Bad Schussenried is a historic monastery town with 8,500 inhabitants located in the beautiful, idyllic hill country between Lake Constance and the Danube and Iller rivers. Our school is housed in a modern complex nestled between a lovely park and an extensive outdoor recreation area. Students can walk to downtown Bad Schussenried in about five minutes.
As a boarding school, our program center combines classrooms, leisure facilities and student dorm rooms on one site. With space for up to 300 students from all over the world, Bad Schussenried is Germany’s largest boarding school for studying German as a foreign language. The school is open year-round and has an incredible infrastructure that allows children and teenagers alike to pursue countless athletic and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors.
Our students stay in twin rooms directly on campus. All rooms have their own en-suite bathroom, as well as a balcony.

We carefully choose the students who will share a room with each other. We take care to match roommates who have a comparable German language level and are of similar age, yet speak different native languages. This way we encourage them to speak and practice German with each other outside of the classroom. Boys and girls are housed separately.
Our students receive three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Laundry service is offered daily to all students free of charge for their personal laundry. Bed linen and towels will be provided and changed regularly.
Bad Schussenried has many sports facilities for young athletes. In addition to a large sports hall, the school features a large indoor swimming pool with sauna and a climbing wall, as well as adjacent indoor tennis courts. Outside we have lawns, sports fields, a lake for swimming and mountain bikes for rides through the magnificent surroundings.
Budding artists can give wings to their creativity in our arts and crafts rooms as well as in several workshops. Games and party rooms (with table football, pool and ping-pong tables) complete the varied range of options and guarantee an interesting leisure program.
Regardless of the weather, our students can always have fun during their leisure time. And our staff of counselors and facilitators will make sure that everyone will feel included, and that the vast array of activities they organize includes a great option for every student.
