A city of superlatives: With over 3.5 million residents, Berlin is Germany’s largest city and is the home of numerous prestigious universities, colleges, and research institutes. Berlin is also the country’s most important political, economic and cultural center. That’s what makes it the perfect location for students from all over the world to study German and learn more about Germany’s history, politics and arts.
We have been welcoming students to our center in Berlin-Mitte since June 2014. The Institute offers modern classrooms, a language laboratory, a spacious common area and modern rooms. A special highlight is our rooftop terrace with panoramic views of Berlin. Our central location and excellent transit connections put a large number of sights within easy reach.
As at all Humboldt-Institut locations, our Berlin course center has housing directly on campus. Students may stay in modern and comfortable single rooms or double rooms (such as for couples) with en-suite bathrooms. All rooms feature TV and Wi-Fi access. Laundry service is free of charge to students.
Living on campus offers many advantages for our students: They live in a German-speaking environment and have the opportunity to practice their newly acquired language skills outside of the classroom.

In addition to housing accommodations, the course fee includes full board, which consists of three main meals per day as well as fruit and coffee during the breaks. The regional cuisine our chef prepares is of outstanding quality and will satisfy the most discerning palates. Upon request we also provide for vegetarian or dietary restrictions.
German is spoken during the meals, which our students eat together. You will also learn a lot about the German cuisine and food culture, typical German dishes, as well as cultural aspects that are not covered in class. Leisure time (afternoons, evenings, weekends) are spent together with other international students who also live on campus. This gives all students the opportunity to continue practicing and enhancing their German skills all day long, which enhances and speeds up the learning process.
Berlin is such a multi-faceted city with such an amazing range of options on how to spend the free afternoons and evenings, that entertainment in your free time is guaranteed with suitable leisure activity options for everyone.
Our teachers help students to organize their own free time, no matter if they want to discover the city or seek relaxation and tranquility after class.
All courses with housing accommodations include all lessons, course materials, housing, full board, laundry service, airport transfer, leisure time excursions (including entrance fees) and a course certificate.
