With a population of some 600,000 inhabitants, Düsseldorf is seen as one of Germany’s most popular major cities and was named the second best city in Germany for quality of life. Not only are its inhabitants very fond of their city, but so are tourists who visit it from all over the world.
Enjoy a stroll along the banks of the Rhine, the famous Rheinuferpromenade (Rhine River boardwalk) which links the picturesque historic city center with the contemporary Media Harbor. The Kö, the bustling shopping street, is a wonderful place to take in the sights. With its residents’ famous zest for life, Düsseldorf has an almost Mediterranean flair, especially in the summer.
Our students are guests in the Düsseldorf City Hostel, a high-quality facility located on the banks of the Rhine River. Our classes take place in the attractive and bright seminar rooms of the hostel, which are all equipped with up-to-date technology. As our students are housed in the same building, they don’t need to leave the premises to get to class, but can conveniently walk there from their rooms.
The hostel is only a few years old and offers high-quality furnishings. Our students stay exclusively in comfortable, modern twin rooms, which all have en-suite bathrooms.

We carefully choose the students who will share a room with each other. We take care to match roommates who have a comparable German language level and are of similar age, yet speak different native languages. This way we encourage them to speak and practice German with each other outside of the classroom. Boys and girls are housed separately.
Our students receive three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Laundry service is offered to all students free of charge once a week for their personal laundry. Bed linen and towels will be provided and changed regularly.
Only the River Rhine separates the Düsseldorf City Hostel from the promenade and the pedestrian zone of the historic downtown area. The hostel is the perfect starting point for exploring Düsseldorf and its many sights, and it’s also a quiet place to return to and relax after a strenuous afternoon in town. We offer our students mountain bikes free of charge and organize bike trips in the surroundings.
Every day we offer an attractive and varied activity program with sports, games or cultural events for the leisure time after class. Our staff will encourage and motivate students to participate in the activities. This leisure program is included in the tuition fees.
The following leisure activities are offered:Badminton
Every Saturday, our staff members organize and accompany full-day excursions to attractive destinations. Every Wednesday, our students will have half-day excursions to sights and interesting towns within the region. The excursions and the entrance fees are already included in the course fee. Some of our offers include:
We guarantee reliable around-the-clock supervision, both during the excursions as well as throughout the whole course. All students are expected to attend all classes, meals and scheduled activities and excursions.
