Returning students to Humboldt – Mariia (B2) from Ukraine7. January 2019

Among the many students at the schools of the Humboldt-Institut, a certain number are returning students who study with Humboldt for the second or even third time. Mariia from Ukraine took her second German course at Humboldt-Institut Berlin in summer 2018. In this article she tells us about her motivation to learn German in Berlin.
Why do you learn German?
I am a doctor in Ukraine and want to improve my medical German. There are so many opportunities for young doctors to work in Germany and I think this is a great motivation to learn German.
Why do you learn German at the Humboldt-Institut?
When I took my first course with Humboldt, I met lots of new people and we are still in contact today. The teachers were very attentive and helpful. So I decided to return for another German course.
Your favorite German word?
Unabhängigkeit (independence) – this was the most difficult word for me to read when I started learning German.
