University Studies in Germany for International Students13. February 2019

Germany is becoming an increasingly popular destination for university students from around the globe. “Made in Germany” is a synonym for quality and Germany offers top quality education and ideal research opportunities at plenty of universities. A degree from a German university gives foreign students a clear edge over their peers and better access to the biggest job market in Europe.

Would you, too, like to study in Germany?

According to your foreign educational qualifications and certificates, we check if you are granted direct or indirect admission to a German institution of higher education. Indirect admission means, that you will have to take a two semester foundation course (Studienkolleg) and pass an assessment test before you can apply at a university.

Before you can begin your studies at a German university, you have to prove that your German language skills are sufficient. For applications at the Studienkolleg an intermediate level – usually a completed B1 or B2 level – is required. If you are granted direct admission a C1 level is necessary and your proficiency has to be confirmed by a successfully passed TestDaF (4×4) or telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exam.

Where to learn German?

Preparatory German courses for adult students are offered year-round in our two schools in Berlin and Constance. In both cases the well-known Humboldt package with intensive German course, residence accommodation, full board and daily after-class activities is provided. Humboldt’s intensive courses, the small class sizes and the immersive atmosphere favor a quick learning progress of our students.

Which German university offers which program?

The variety of subjects and study programs to choose from is huge. We often receive inquiries from students with very specific requests. Fortunately, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers plenty of information for international students on their website. DAAD also provides a very useful tool which allows to filter for specific subjects or subjects areas, degrees and types of universities.
