Online German Courses for Teenagers

In July and August the Humboldt Institute offers online German classes for adolescents. With those classes also young learners can learn German from home. Here is an overview of the available courses and dates:

Course Information

The Online German Course 10 can be booked for 2 or 4 weeks. All courses end on August 28th, 2020 at the latest.

The course comprises 10 lessons per week, the course material and a certificate of participation. The courses take place with a minimum of 4 students per class. The maximum class size is 9 students. Please note that the courses are not suitable for total beginners.

Fifteen year old students can choose to take a course from the younger or the older group. The courses differ primarily in the vocabulary and the topics of the exercises, which are designed according to the students’ age.

 

Technical Requirements

The learning platform runs in your browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox). A computer or laptop with headphones, microphone and camera is required. Smartphones are not suitable for participating in the online classes. You can use the following link to check whether your computer is suitable for online courses: System check. The technical review is required to book one of the online German course.

Your German level will be determined by an online placement test. You will receive the link and further information after booking the course.

 

Enrollment

You may use our enrollment form to book one of the online German courses. Please select the entry “Online courses” under point 1 “Your school”. You can then choose between the different courses. After the booking request, you will receive a summary by email and a separate booking confirmation within one working day.

The registration period ends two weeks before the start of the course. Payment of the course fee is due before the start of the course.

In the days before the course starts, online meetings are offered for a technical check of your device and to get to know the learning platform. You will receive a separate message from our booking office. Participation in one of these meetings is mandatory, as no technical problems can be discussed during the courses.
