Munich, the capital of Bavaria, picturesquely situated close to the Lower Alps, is not only world-famous for its “Oktoberfest”: Great museums like the three “Pinakotheks” (picture galleries), the German Museum, the Bavaria Film Studios or the Olympic Center have contributed as much to the fame and international atmosphere of this beautiful historic “charming metropolis” as its immense cultural offerings or the bustle of its main square, the “Marienplatz.”
Young people especially enjoy the abundant repertoire of cultural events, concerts, shopping opportunities, sports facilities, night clubs, etc. that Munich has to offer. Nonetheless, the parents of our young course participants should not worry about sending their children to this big city, because, first of all, our team of counselors ensures reliable 24-hour supervision; secondly, Munich was able to preserve not only its charm from the days when it was a small Bavarian town, but also its tranquility and safety. Last but not least, our school for teenagers in this beautiful city is like a quiet oasis with wonderful recreational facilities in the hustle and bustle of the program center.
Our courses are held in the Don Bosco Youth Hostel in the center of Munich. The school’s wonderful location (near the Deutsches Museum, very close to downtown, yet in a very quiet neighborhood and surrounded by its fantastic sports and recreational facilities) make it the perfect place for students who wish to study in a big city, yet prefer the tranquility and convenience of a residential campus.
Our classes take place in friendly, functional classrooms on the very same premises where our students are accommodated, which adds to their convenience.
The school has a wonderful infrastructure for sports and leisure activities and offers the perfect starting point for exploring Munich on foot or by public transportation.
Our students live in the Don Bosco youth hostel located near the Deutsches Museum in the center of town, on the very same campus where their classes are held. Due to the fantastic location of the school, the students can reach the Munich city center in just a few minutes on foot. The school also features a wonderful infrastructure for leisure activities.
The rooms of the dormitories are bright and cheerful and mainly have 2 beds, although some of them also have 3 to 4 beds. Showers and restroom facilities (shared) are available on all floors. The students are divided by gender (boys and girls live on different floors or wings, sometimes even in different buildings of the boarding school). When choosing roommates we are very careful to select people of very similar age and similar German knowledge, but with different native languages, to encourage them to practice their German with each other.
We provide full board for our students, which consists of three main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) as well as one snack a day.
Laundry service is offered to our students free of charge once a week.
Munich offers a multitude of leisure opportunities (sights, museums, parks, cultural events etc) which our counselors will include in the daily program. The old part of the city is the busiest spot, while oases of peace like the English Garden or the common greens along the Isar River offer inviting locations for private outings in the sun.
The Don Bosco youth hostel is designed especially for the needs of young people: there are ample athletic facilities (indoor and outdoor) available to the students, where they can play soccer, volleyball and basketball. A large indoor swimming pool, a gym (fitness room) and a climbing wall are among everybody’s favorites, and a bowling alley, ping-pong, football and pool tables, as well as a party room ensure fun evenings in the group. Internet access is also provided.
Our staff guarantees thorough, round-the-clock supervision.

Every Saturday, our staff members organize and accompany full-day excursions. These events and all entrance fees are included in the course fee. We offer our students a great variety of trips to interesting destinations, such as:
This is a favorite tourist spot, a fairy-tale castle, high up in the Bavarian mountains with a wonderful view of the Alps and the gorgeous landscape beneath it. Not only was it the residence of “Mad King Ludwig,” but also the model for the “Sleeping Beauty Castle” in Disneyland
It is Franconia’s largest city (population: approx. 500,000) with an impressive 1000 year old castle and a mighty medieval city wall and moat surrounding it. Nuremberg has always been a city of traders and inventers: the first paper north of the Alps was manufactured there, the pocket watch was invented in this town, as was the clarinet, and the first German railway went from Nuremberg to Fuerth in 1835
The picturesque city (population: approx. 150,000) is situated on the Danube river and enchants visitors with the beauty of its medieval downtown. The entire center of this Bavarian city together with its 900 protected historic monuments was recently placed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. This lively university town promises a fun and entertaining day trip for our teenagers
A trip to the majestic Alps, the mighty mountain range in the south of Germany, could also be an option
Every Wednesday afternoon, we also offer our students half-day excursions to regional sights or take them to downtown Munich for various leisure activities.
Wherever we take our students, we guarantee reliable supervision during the trip.
We will gladly pick up our students from the closest railway station free of charge. The name of that station is Munich Central Station.
If students wish to be picked up from the airport, we can arrange an airport transfer service for them for a fee. The only airport from and to which transfers can be arranged is Munich. Fees will be doubled for transfers on other days than the official days of arrival and departure.
