The Humboldt-Institut Bad Schussenried is Germany's only residential school for the upper management in the fields of economics, politics, science and culture. Not only do international executives take highly intensive German courses at the school there, but they are also accommodated on campus. We offer our course participants the opportunity to fully concentrate on learning German in highly intensive and custom-tailored classes. Our school also offers a great variety of indoor and outdoor opportunities for the time after class. The location of the school away from the hustle and bustle of big cities ensures the tranquility needed to concentrate on the essential of the German language course without sacrificing the amenities of the free time.
Our residential school is housed in a modern building complex adjacent to a magnificent park. The city center of Bad Schussenried lies within walking distance of approx. 5 minutes. The classrooms and teaching materials are carefully selected according to the specific needs of the course participants. Apart from the school building with modern classrooms, the campus also features an incredible infrastructure for leisure time activities, including a large indoor swimming pool, sauna, a gym and even a climbing wall.
Our guests are accommodated in single rooms on the campus of our residential school in Bad Schussenried. The rooms all have ensuite facilities (shower/WC) and a balcony with a very nice view, either of the school's own park or of the city center of Bad Schussenried. All rooms feature telephone, TV, internet access and are equipped with high quality wooden furniture, which is modern, friendly and at the same time functional.
All participants enjoy full board (three main meals, as well as fruit and coffee during all breaks). The regional cuisine we offer, prepared by our own professional chef, is of outstanding quality and will satisfy the most discerning palates. We also provide for vegetarian, dietary or religious restrictions. All meals are taken
together in the school's dining room. This helps our course participants to continue practicing and enhancing their German skills outside of the classroom.
Laundry service is offered free of charge to our guests. Accommodation and full board are included in the course fee.

The campus features a sports hall, as well as a large indoor swimming pool with sauna and a climbing wall. A miniature golf course and an indoor tennis court are situated just next to the school. Our guests can use the school's mountain bikes for short trips or long rides through the magnificent surroundings. If the weather is nice, the adjacent park as well as our great outdoor premises with lawns and playing fields are ideal for relaxation.

Directly located on the shores of the "Bodensee" (Lake Constance) are attractive cities and towns like picturesque little Meersburg, famous for Germany’s oldest lived-in fortification, or Überlingen on the northwestern shores of the lake, with an old town center dating back to Emperor Barbarossa in 1180 and featuring an interesting cathedral, a famous 15th century town hall and a moat surrounding the historic downtown area.
The little island in Lake Constance is privately owned by an aristocratic family. The island, which is world famous for its botanical gardens and plantations of hundreds of thousands of blossoming flowers, is known as “Flower Island”.
