Intensive courses in August in Germany\'s sunniest city in the South East
|
 | Freiburg, Germany’s sunniest city, is located in the southeastern corner of the country near France and Switzerland, which, along with its large number of international guests and students from all over the world, lends the city its multi-cultural atmosphere. Another typical feature of the town are its numerous alleys and small streams that run between its historical buildings. Little cafés, cinemas and shops round out the harmony of the city’s image. The majority of Freiburg’s citizens get around by bicycle - a convenient way of visiting the countless little lakes and parks that add to Freiburg’s special appeal.

 | We offer courses of three with 30 lessons per week at this course center.
In these courses, beginners can acquire basic knowledge of German and advanced learners can improve their language skills and gain fluency in their oral and written expression. A detailed placement test on the first day of class helps us to assign students a course that really corresponds to their language level. Our classes consist of 5 to 10 students maximum.
In our classes, we focus on all relevant aspects of a foreign language, i.e., listening and reading comprehension, written expression, grammar, and oral expression. We particularly emphasize our students' need to learn to ask in German, to participate in conversations and to express themselves adequately in German in a large number of real-life situations. The daily contact with everyday life in Germany, homework assignments, and a constant exposure to German during our organized after-class activities further encourage our students to put into practice what they have learned also outside the classroom.
These courses serve levels A1 - C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference.

 | Our students live in the heart of Freiburg, in the Catholic Apprentices’ Hostel, which is located within five minutes walking distance from the city’s center. Students are housed in twin or triple rooms with showers on the floor and receive three main meals a day plus one snack.
|
|
 | Our center has a workshop with carpentry tools and equipment for pottery, a room for Internet research and recreation rooms with television. We conduct full-day and half-day excursions to Germany’s renowned amusement park, Europapark Rust, to nearby Schauinsland peak (1284 meters high), into the Black Forest and through the Rhine valley. Trips to France or Basel, Switzerland, are optional.
There is an athletic field in front of our center, where students are invited to play soccer, volleyball, badminton and basketball. Freiburg has countless paths for hiking and biking (mountain bikes are available), as well as many little lakes and three large thermal pools for fun in the water.
