Bad Honnef

Intensive courses in July at Hagerhof Castle

The place
Set in the Siebengebirge mountains and on the banks of the Rhine, Bad Honnef with its 25,000 inhabitants, a spa town of international interest, serves as a starting point of exciting excursions. Among others there are the city of Remagen with an outdoor swimming-pool, the legendary Drachenfels castle and ruins and the city of Koblenz, where the Mosel river flows into the Rhine. In this area the Rhine is framed like a string of pearls by many castles, one of the most typical and beautiful ones being Burg Eltz. Alexander von Humboldt once declared Bad Honnef the "German Nice".

Course description
The courses at Bad Honnef are three weeks intensive courses with 30 lessons per week.

During this course the young students can improve their knowledge of German in small groups of on average of no more than ten students. Beginners can acquire basic knowledge of the German language. After a placement test each student attends a class according to his or her level. Through contact with German everyday life, through homework assignments and the continuous exposure to German during the organized leisure time activities, students are encouraged to put into practice what they have learned, both inside and outside the classroom.

The courses serve levels A1 - C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference.

Accommodation
Our course is held at Hagerhof Castle, a High School in the outskirts of Bad Honnef. It is situated in a part of the Siebengebirge National Park. Our students will be accommodated in twin and a few three- and four-bedded rooms of the Hagerhof Castle Boarding School, and will be served three main meals and two snacks each day.

Free-time activities
During the leisure time, students can swim in the school's heated indoor pool, play ping-pong, use the running track, the sports ground and the gym, play basketball, streetball and beach volleyball. The party room "Klim-Bim" provides space for group events. There is an outdoor pool nearby. Right next to our school, our students can go horseback riding. They can also play tennis in town. Horseback riding and tennis, however, are not included in our course fees.

One of the special attractions which is part of our organized activity program is a steamboat-cruise on the Rhine, passing Bonn, Cologne, and Dusseldorf.

Our spezialized staff guarantees a thorough and reliable round the clock supervision. Except for horseback-riding, most of the manifold activities are included in the price.
